Eicher Motors announced on Thursday that it has been served a GST demand order amounting to Rs 15 lakh by the Haryana authorities. The demand includes Rs 5 lakh in tax, Rs 9 lakh in interest, and Rs 1 lakh as a penalty, the company mentioned in its regulatory filing.

Eicher Motors has expressed its disagreement with the demand, labeling it as not maintainable based on the company's assessment. The company is currently reviewing all available options, including the possibility of filing an appeal against the order.

This development follows a demand order issued by the Office of the Excise and Taxation Officer in Gurgaon (East), Haryana, Ward-5.
