Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday conducted a review of the preparations for the holy Kanwar Yatra, scheduled to begin on July 22, delivering essential guidelines to concerned ministers. The meeting saw attendance from ministers of water, power, urban development, energy, and PWD. Adityanath directed these departments to complete pending road repairs along the Yatra route within 72 hours.

The Chief Minister emphasized maintaining cleanliness throughout the Kanwar Yatra route during the month of Sawan, ensuring there is no dirt or waterlogging. Instructions were given for effective solid waste management and adequate lighting, recommending the installation of additional street lights and necessary transformers. He also suggested setting up assistance camps for the public and providing cold drinking water and lemonade, with the help of verified social organizations. Monitoring of the Yatra route using drones and showering flowers on devotees on significant occasions were also proposed.

Adityanath insisted that DJs used during the Yatra adhere to prescribed standards and height limits. He highlighted the need for effective crowd management at Shiva temples in urban areas, including Ghaziabad, Meerut, Bareilly, Ayodhya, Basti, Prayagraj, Kashi, and Barabanki, by coordinating with temple management. Furthermore, the Chief Minister addressed reports of dead animals in the Ganga canal, urging officials to take immediate action to resolve the issue.
