Gram Unnati has teamed up with Coca-Cola India to launch 'Project Mango Unnati,' a transformative initiative aimed at improving mango yields in Karnataka and boosting farmers' incomes.

The project focuses on sustainable cultivation of Alphonso and Totapuri varieties in collaboration with state horticulture agencies, including Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), the Mango Board, and the Indian Institute of Horticultural Research (IIHR).

Aneesh Jain, CEO and Founder of Gram Unnati, stated, 'We are proud to partner with Coca-Cola India on this transformative project, which underscores our commitment to sustainable agriculture and farmer empowerment. Our goal is to adopt modern practices and focus on quality to significantly enhance the livelihoods of mango farmers in Karnataka.'

Senior Director of CSR and Sustainability for Coca-Cola India, Rajesh Ayapilla, emphasized the project's aim to uplift farmers' livelihoods via advanced horticulture solutions and practices.

The project promotes Sustainable Agricultural Practices to enhance mango yields and farmer incomes by improving the quality, size, and shelf life of the fruit, helping farmers achieve better market prices. Additionally, it will demonstrate rejuvenation techniques for old orchards and high-density plantation (HDP) practices.

The initiative also focuses on micro irrigation, integrated pest management (IPM), and water conservation techniques like mulching and rainwater harvesting. Farmers will receive crop advisory services that include climate forecasting and crop alert systems, equipping them with climate-smart techniques.

Gram Unnati is an agri value chain enterprise offering advisory services, high-quality inputs at low costs, and market linkages to marginal farmers. Their goal is to provide end-to-end quality control of agri produce to institutional buyers.
