Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday laid the foundation stone of a new tourism complex in Auhar, Bilaspur district. With an estimated cost of Rs 33.75 crores, the complex will feature state-of-the-art facilities including a hotel block, food court, and recreational zone. The project aims to be completed within two years.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for quality construction and outlined the hotel's amenities: a reception area, a restaurant accommodating 60 people, a conference room for 30, a Dham hall for 400, a banquet hall for 300, and 40 guest rooms. The food court will seat 214 people and feature eight stalls, while the recreational zone will offer a swimming pool, gym, spa, and indoor games room. A 50 KLD sewage treatment plant is also planned.

Sukhu highlighted that the complex will integrate with water sports at Gobind Sagar Lake. A second phase, costing Rs 150 crore, will add an amusement park and additional amenities, all interconnected by a bridge. The Chief Minister reiterated the government's commitment to enhancing tourism infrastructure, crucial for the state's economy and employment opportunities. Speaking to the media, he also criticized the BJP's attempts to destabilize the government and urged for a constructive opposition.
