Tragic Suicide of Dalit Man after Brutal Beating by Employer

A 20-year-old Dalit man named Kamalkant committed suicide by self-immolation after being beaten by his employer, Pramod, and his associates. He had asked for an advance of Rs 60,000 to repay a loan. A video of the beating surfaced online. The police arrested one of the accused and are searching for others.

In a heart-wrenching incident, a 20-year-old Dalit man, Kamalkant, allegedly committed suicide by setting himself on fire after suffering a brutal beating at the hands of his employer and his associates. The tragedy unfolded after Kamalkant requested an advance of Rs 60,000 from his employer, Pramod, to repay a loan.

According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Ranvijay Singh, Pramod and his associates held Kamalkant hostage and mercilessly thrashed him. A purported video of this harrowing incident has surfaced on social media, raising widespread outrage.

Kamalkant set himself on fire when he returned home on Tuesday night while his family was attending a wedding. Upon discovering the tragedy, his family informed the police, who promptly registered a case against Pramod and his partners. Anuj, one of the accused, was arrested on Friday, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the other suspects.
