In a significant drug bust, the Assam Rifles apprehended three individuals and seized heroin worth over Rs 7 crore near the Nuiland-Dimapur road, according to an official release on Saturday.

The operation was based on specific intelligence regarding drug movement through the area. On July 10, 2024, a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) was established near the fourth mile on the Nuiland-Dimapur road.

During the checkpoint operation, Assam Rifles intercepted a vehicle and, after a thorough search, discovered 1,134 grams of suspected heroin. The contraband, estimated at Rs 7,93,80,000, was concealed in 81 plastic soap cases to avoid detection. The recovered items and arrested individuals have been handed over to the Nagaland Police for further investigation.
