Amit Shah to Lead Tree Planting Record and Inaugurate 55 Colleges in Madhya Pradesh

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Sunday, July 14, to take part in the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative and inaugurate 55 Excellence Colleges across the state. The district has made extensive preparations and enforced safety measures for the occasion.

Shah's first event will be the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' program, aiming to plant a record 11 lakh trees at the Border Security Force's Revati shooting range. Following this, Shah is scheduled to reach Atal Bihari Art and Commerce College to formally inaugurate 55 Excellence Colleges for as many districts. State cabinet minister Tulsi Ram Silawat confirmed the schedule and reiterated the state's commitment to the new education policy envisioned by former Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav, which will be officially launched at the event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi previously called for the national planting of 140 crore trees under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' project on World Environment Day. In this effort, Madhya Pradesh pledged to plant 5.5 crore trees, with 51 lakh designated for Indore. Shah's participation in planting 11 lakh trees aims to achieve a Guinness World Record.

Indore Collector Ashish Singh stated that Home Minister Amit Shah will be involved in the world-record tree-planting attempt at the BSF's Revati Range, followed by the inauguration of the Excellence Colleges at the Atal Bihari Art and Commerce College in Bhawarkua. Shah will also address the students during his visit, with ongoing preparations in the city ensuring a successful event.
