BSP National President and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati, endorsed Delhi University Vice Chancellor's decision to reject the inclusion of 'Manusmriti' in the Law Faculty syllabus. She emphasized that the Manusmriti clashed with the egalitarian and welfare objectives of the Indian Constitution.

Mayawati highlighted that the Manusmriti's principles are incompatible with those of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, who formulated the Indian Constitution. She stressed that any attempt to incorporate Manusmriti into the curriculum is inappropriate as it contradicts the core values of humanism and secularism upheld by Ambedkar.

On Thursday, Delhi University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Yogesh Singh, announced the rejection of the proposal to include 'Manusmriti' in the LLB course. Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, affirmed that the administration remains committed to the Constitution and its forward-looking approach, rejecting any divisive content.
