The recently inaugurated field hospital in Sukma's Puvarti, home to feared Naxal leader Hidma, is narrowing the divide between locals and security forces, according to a senior police official. The hospital is part of Chhattisgarh Government's 'Niyad Nellanar' scheme, which aims to develop security camps as integrated development centers.

'We are implementing an action plan under which security forces ensure basic facilities at newly established camps in the region,' said Bastar Range Inspector General of Police (IG) Sundarraj P.

Under the Niyad Nellanar scheme, essential services such as medical facilities, ration outlets, schools, and power supply are delivered to villages in insurgency-affected districts. Recently, the CRPF camp set up in Puvarti has established a field hospital to provide primary healthcare to the locals, according to the IG.

The initiative benefits villagers while playing a crucial role in closing the gap between the government and the community. The move positively impacts the health of women and children, IG Sundarraj added. The CRPF field hospital, in conjunction with the district administration's healthcare unit, significantly improves residents' health conditions, referring patients to the district hospital as necessary.

IG Sundarraj also noted that the field hospital is equipped with an ambulance and bike-ambulance for emergencies. The police and security personnel act as a bridge to ensure that locals receive facilities, and the security camps function as development hubs connecting villagers with government schemes.

Recognizing the importance of health and education, the government is establishing these services in the area. Additionally, a PDS outlet has been set up to provide the benefits of government schemes.

Villagers who visited the CRPF camp for medical assistance told ANI that healthcare services have become more accessible since the camp's establishment. They expressed their gratitude towards the government and security forces for their efforts. (ANI)
