The Uttarakhand Government’s Department of Health and Family Welfare has integrated the eSwasthya Dham portal with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) to provide enhanced health monitoring for Char Dham Yatra pilgrims. The portal, accessible at eSwasthya Dham, aims to ensure a safe and smooth journey for pilgrims visiting the sacred sites of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.
The eSwasthya Dham portal offers various benefits, including the easy creation of the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), a 14-digit number that can be generated in just 1-2 minutes. This integration prioritizes the health of pilgrims, especially senior citizens, by tracking health conditions such as heart diseases, hypertension, respiratory diseases, and diabetes, which can be exacerbated by the high altitudes, cold weather, and low oxygen levels of the Char Dham shrines.
ABHA creation as part of the ABDM provides a trustworthy identity for devotees and facilitates the management of their health records digitally, ensuring immediate medical intervention during emergencies. So far, over 65 crore ABHA numbers have been created, enabling citizens to securely store and manage their health records, share them with doctors, and access several digital health benefits, such as avoiding long queues at healthcare facilities and scheduling doctor appointments.
Pilgrims can log in to the eSwasthya Dham portal to generate their ABHA and learn more about the Yatra guidelines. Additionally, a helpline number, 104, has been established to assist pilgrims.
