A powerful tremor rocked the Rydultowy coal mine in Poland, leaving two miners unaccounted for and injuring at least 15 others. The accident occurred about 1,200 meters underground, causing chaos and uncertainty.

Rescuers have been struggling to reach about two dozen miners trapped below the surface. Polish Coal Mining Group spokesperson Aleksandra Wysocka-Siembiga confirmed that all but two miners have been accounted for, expressing concern over the lack of contact with the missing duo.

The tremor, recorded at magnitude 3.1 by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, struck at 8:16 am. Of the 68 miners present in the area, 41 have been brought to the surface, including 15 who required hospitalization. The rescue operation involves airborne ambulances and multiple teams of personnel. The incident is a stark reminder of the dangers inherent in Poland's coal mining industry, which employs approximately 75,000 people.
