State-owned firm NLC India Ltd (NLCIL) announced on Tuesday that its lignite production surged by 22.12% to reach 61.72 lakh tonnes (LT) in the first quarter of the current fiscal year.
Compared to the previous year's output of 50.54 LT, the company's lignite production saw a remarkable increase. Similarly, NLCIL's coal production rose to 28.46 LT, marking a 35.27% growth from the same period last year. The navratna company under the coal ministry also recorded a gross power generation of 7,553.62 MU in the June quarter, up from 6,843.09 MU last year. This includes renewable power generation of 546.63 MU, slightly up from 539.28 MU in Q1 of FY24.
Adding to these achievements, NLC India Ltd's market capitalization went up by 5.28%, with shares rising from Rs 228.10 to Rs 240.15.
