Overnight Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure caused a deficit in grid system which could prompt power cuts in the evening for consumers around the country, Ukraine's grid operator Ukrenergo said on Wednesday.
Hydropower and thermal power plants were damaged in the attack, Ukrenergo said in a statement via the Telegram messaging app. On Wednesday morning, nine Ukrainian regions experienced power cuts as a result of the attack and ongoing fighting.
