Ahead of the assembly election in Mizoram, a debate was organized in Aizawl North-III Assembly Constituency for the 6 candidates in the fray. Mizoram People's Forum (MPF), the Local People Forum (LPF) of Aizawl North-III (ST) Assembly Constituency organized a common platform for debating the 6 candidates of the upcoming Mizoram election, in their constituency.

The candidates were given 15 minutes each to campaign about their party's agendas F Lallura, Chairman, Local People Forum common platform Aizawl North-III (ST) Assembly Constituency said, " This is organised by Aizawl North-III (ST) Assembly Constituency and it is called a common platform for the candidates of Political parties...each candidate have an opportunity to say something to the audience and share about their political manifesto"

Union Minister of Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju on Sunday exuded confidence in BJP's victory in the upcoming Mizoram elections on November 7. "BJP will play a greater part and greater role in, the development of Mizoram through our presence in the legislative assembly. BJP will win a very impressive number of seats this time...If the BJP comes to power in Mizoram, then we will have a double-engine government in the centre as well in the state...", Rijiju said while speaking to ANI.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday released its first list of twelve candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in Mizoram. Earlier on October 30 the Congress which is looking to return to power in the North Eastern state promised that the first session of the new Legislative Assembly of Mizoram led by the Congress party will pass a new Bill that guarantees to protect the land, the forests and the rights of the tribal people of the state.

Mizoram is one of the five states undergoing assembly elections. Polls will be held in Mizoram on November 7 and the counting of votes will be done on December 3.

In a 40-member Mizoram assembly, the Mizo National Front bagged 26 seats with a vote share of 37.8 per cent to emerge victorious in the 2018 polls. The Congress secured five seats and BJP won one seat. (ANI)
