The mystery of the death of Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) is finally put to rest in the 16th episode of Riverdale Season 4 and fans are left guessing about what could be next for teenagers of the 'wicked' town.
There is no dearth of fan theories thanks to the showmakers who have left many secrets unanswered, from the mysterious videotapes that were left at doorsteps to Charles Smith (Wyatt Nash) and his connection to Chic (Hart Denton).
The Cooper and Jones family is getting deeper and deeper with Charles highlighted in the recent episodes of Riverdale Season 4 when Betty Cooper (Lili Pauline Reinhart) asked for his help to cover up a possible murder. The mystery of Charles is getting build-up and it might soon become the worst yet nightmare for Betty, Jughead and even for Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and Archie Andrews (KJ Apa).
The teen stars of Riverdale are set to graduate and might not end up in the town even though the future doesn't look gloomy for them. This also means that showmakers don't have much time to have them confronted with their next challenge and it's quite likely that a lot would come crashing down at once.
The secrets of Charles and Chic, mysterious videotapes, not-so-sweet Riverdale High School principal Mr. Honey (Kerr Smith) coupled with Evelyn Evernever (Zoé De Grand Maison), who is in no mood to back down just yet. It seems likely that Riverdale would be confronted with their biggest challenge and the next few episodes would decide the next course of action of the show, which is very likely to be renewed for the season 5.
Apa (the actor who plays Archie) recently revealed in an interview that he is contracted to be on Riverdale for the next three years, and he also confirmed his contract is the same as the rest of the show's leads, presumably referring to Lili Reinhart, Cole Sprouse, and Camila Mendes. This could mean Riverdale continues till 2023 if the show remains popular on The CW and continues to release one season per year.
Riverdale is on a break just as fans got a chance to dive into the nostalgia due to 'social-distancing' advisories, but it's a great time to binge-watch the whole series again as you wait for the next 'musical episode' of Riverdale Season 4 (teaser below)!
