Mia Khalifa cracks secret behind controversial hijab scene at BBC interview
Mia Khalifa, the former Lebanese porn star has recently opened her mouth on her most controversial adult sex scenes wearing the Islamic hijab. She started her career in pornography in October 2014 and within a year she left the industry.
Mia Khalifa came to limelight after the release of a BangBros scene in which she was clad in a hijab during a threesome. Not only she gained instant popularity including criticism from writers and religious figures, she started receiving a series of death threats from the Muslim fundamentalists across the world who found her act highly offensive.
The 26-year-old current social media personality, Mia Khalifa recently opened up in a conversation with Stephen Sackur, the anchor of BBC News’ HARDtalk that she was left with no choice after being offered to shoot the scene wearing hijab although she was totally opposed to it. She admitted during her interview that she was well aware she was doing something provocative.
“I verbatim told them, ‘You guys are going to get me killed,’” Mia Khalifa said to HARDtalk’s Stephen Sackur. She continued speaking out about the ordeal she suffered.
“Intimidation - I was scared. I knew that if I said no, it would. You know, they are not going to force you to do it, at that point that’s rape. No one is going to force you to have sex. But I was still scared,” the former famous adult actress revealed.
Earlier, when the scene was released, the producer was recorded saying, “We weren’t trying to exploit [Khalifa’s ethnicity]. We wanted to embrace it. No one could have anticipated the negativity surrounding it.”
Mia Khalifa revealed that she continued receiving threats online of being beheaded and this led her to leave the adult industry in 2015 despite her no. 1 rank on Pornhub. Threats to her also included a manipulated image of an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant executioner preparing to behead her, and a message warning her that she would go to Hell.
Retired adult actress @miakhalifa tells @stephensackur she held deep reservations over wearing a hijab in a porn scene - a decision that led to threats against her."I verbatim told them 'You guys are going to get me killed', she said, adding she was too "intimidated" to refuse. pic.twitter.com/0raHNnCYAj
