Mia Khalifa doesn’t get residuals despite her No. 2 rank among actor searches

Mia Khalifa is on the headlines these days mainly for one of her Instagram pictures where she claimed that she was in the vicinity of the controversial zone Area 51. In a recent update from The Washington Post, we have come to know that the former pornographic actress is ranked no. 2 among actor searches on Pornhub despite giving her career in the porn industry.

Mia Khalifa, on Pornhub, is ranked no. 2 with an eye-popping 784 million views alone, which stands over two for every person in the US. But she said to TWP that she does not get any residuals from that site or any others.

Many may not know why Mia Khalifa is better known as “The hijab porn star”. The 26-year-old originally named Mia Callista became globally popular after the release of a BangBros scene in which she wears a hijab during a threesome. She not only became popular in 2014, but she also started receiving criticisms from writers and religious figures for infamously humped on camera wearing the traditional Muslim garb. Haters claimed she had brought disgrace to the country and insulted Islam. She also received threats from Islamic State supporters.

While asked if the Lebanese actress left the porn industry out of fear from ISIS, she said to TWP, “I was not scared of ISIS. It was jarring. But I wasn’t living in fear. It was more that I was living in shame.”

On the other hand, Mia Khalifa was recently over the headlines for revealing a bitter truth stating the adult film industry had not endowed her with enough financial profits. Through these comments, she was dismissing a rumor over Twitter that porn stars make millions out of the pornographic industry.

“I made a TOTAL of around $12000 in the industry and never saw a penny again after that.” $12000 is nearly equivalent to Rupees 8.5 lakhs” – she tweeted. After her tweet, many came in support of her saying the figure earned by her is too less. They also supported that the condition of the industry is not as brilliant as she looks from outside.

Mia Khalifa also accepted that she confronted severe difficulties and was scary to get a normal job after quitting the adult entertainment industry.
