BLACKPINK creates history, ‘Boombayah’ crosses 650 million views

BLACKPINK girls continue to be the empresses of YouTube with their debut music video crossing 650 million views. With this tremendous count, ‘Boombayah’ has become the first K-pop debut music video in history ever to achieve the feat.
BLACKPINK, formed by YG Entertainment, first released ‘Boombayah’ on August 8, 2016 through various digital music portals in South Korea. ‘Boombayah’ topped the Billboard World Digital Songs chart in the first week of sales. It marked a record as the most-viewed debut music video by a Korean act. The video so far has received 653,078,934 views with 431,882 comments.
The South Korean girl group, BLACKPINK is the highest-charting female K-pop act, as of 2019, on both Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. K-pop aficionados will be stunned learning that BLACKPINK is the first female K-pop group to have four number-one singles on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.
Blackpink in Your Area is the first Japanese studio album by BLACKPINK, the South Korean girl group. It was digitally released on November 23, 2018. The group announced in October last year that it would release its first Japanese studio album. The group said to have associated with Shiseido for the release of the album. The album was finally released digitally on November 23, 2018.
According to Allkpop, BLACKPINK’s tour is currently the biggest K-pop girl tour in history. They have been bringing in millions of dollars from ticket sales from their world tour. Their ‘Girls’ Generation: 3rd Japan Tour’ had an attendance of 293,324. The group of beautiful girls believes that the number of attendees will further augment as their tour will continue in December this year with shows in Japan.
BLACKPINK’s popular beautiful girls – Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa – received many accolades. Forbes Korea Power Celebrity has named them the most influential celebs of Korea in 2019.
