Wonder Woman 1984 jumps from WWI to 80s, New villain revealed for Diana
Gal Gadot starring in Wonder Woman 1984 is believed to make the movie once again a superhit like the 2017-superhit film Wonder Woman. And the 33-year old beautiful actress’ role based on DC Comic character, Wonder Woman will be seen as an immortal demigoddess, Amazon princess and warrior.
The year 2020 is surely going to a remarkable one for the DC movie aficionados. Apart from Wonder Woman 1984, Birds of Prey is also known to be released in 2020. However, Diana (to be played by Gal Gadot) will be back in action in the upcoming movie and she will be confronting the scariest enemy during the 1980s.
Wonder Woman 1984 was previously set to be released on December 13 this year, which was later moved to November 1. Now the release date is pushed to mid-2020 without giving much reasons behind the delay. However, as far as the cast and crew are concerned, the movie will be directed by Patty Jenkins and co-produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder. The overall budget for making the movie is yet to be revealed.
The plot of Wonder Woman 1984 is still kept under wraps. But the movie will follow the titular hero as she comes in conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War in 1980s and encounters a formidable foe in the form of Cheetah. Kristen Wiig will be seen playing the role of Barbara aka Cheetah, who is basically a British archaeologist. After locating the lost city of Urzkartaga and stumbling into an ancient ritual, Barbara becomes the host of Cheetah goddess. Cheetah is going to be main villain in the movie. The sequel is said to have a jump from World War I to the 1980s as Diana gets herself embroiled in the Cold War.
The movie will have other eminent actors like Chris Pine, Connie Nielson, Robin Wright, Kelvin Yu, Lyon Beckwith to name a few in the characters named Steve Trevor, Hippolyta, Antiope, Jake and Buzz respectively.
Wonder Woman 1984 is slated to hit the big screens on June 4, 2020 in Russia and June 5, 2020 in the United States.
