Better Call Saul Season 5: New cast revealed, Reasons to wait until 2020
Since Better Call Saul Season 5 was first announced at Television Critics’ Association (TCA) in August 2018 ahead of the premiere of Season 4, fans are passionately waiting to have a glimpse of its facts. However, we are still far away from its premiere and the official release date is yet to be announced.
Not too long ago, we reported Better Call Saul Season 5 is currently underway! That’s obviously a big reason for rejoicing for the avid series’ viewers across the world, and mainly around the greater Albuquerque area where the local people are having the chance to see various actors. AMC had already confirmed that the filming has begun on the pre-determined date, April 10. Even the announcement was made that Sense8 actor, Tony Dalton will be a permanent fixture on the series as Lalo Salamanca.
But unfortunately, Better Call Saul Season 5 is not likely to return to its original network AMC until 2020. The Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould-crime drama series is gradually coming closer to its spin-off prequel Breaking Bad but the fifth season cannot be expected until 2020. The announcement has recently been done by President of AMC, Sarah Barnett, who opines that the most recent plans discussed for the series would not it getting back over the small screens until sometime next year.
“We said on our most recent earnings call that the series would come back for season five next year…. It’s driven by talent needs, which we would not override if it would result in a worse show,” Barnett said in a conversation with Vulture.
On the other hand, another reason why the fifth season could be delayed is the undergoing production in Mexico on Breaking Bad movie, which reportedly follows the story of Jesse Pinkman after he sailed off into the very bleak sunset. Thus, it’s for sure the producers and creators are focussing on the sequel movie of Break Bad that also does not have an official release date.
The viewers will see Saul Goodman in Better Call Saul Season 5 doing almost everything to make him the opposite of his last name. He fully overcomes Jimmy and Season 4’s finale took us to the death of his previous identity. Even several twists in the plot are also likely to be seen in the impending season. Saul is likely to augment the decree of his crime as he works for the drug lord Walter White. His new actions will be unacceptable to Kim, hence they are likely to move from each other with the sagacity of hostility.
Last year, the series creator Peter Gould had a conversation with The Independent. He had given a hint that Season 5 of Better Call Saul may conclude the series. The series, according to him, will have the same number of episodes as Breaking Bad (16 episodes equally divided in two parts) that completed after five seasons. This makes the viewers believe that the fifth season is going to put an end to the crime drama series.
