Vikas Lawande, spokesperson for NCP (SP), gained his release on bail from a local court five days post-arrest due to charges involving alleged contentious remarks about leaders of the Warkari sect. Bail was granted with a personal bond of Rs 30,000 under conditions imposed by Judicial Magistrate First Class Alisha Bagal. These conditions include abstaining from similar offenses and providing his permanent address to the court.
The arrest occurred on May 21 by the Wagholi police. During the proceedings, Lawande's defense, led by advocate Milind Pawar, argued that the arrest violated procedures established by the Supreme Court and accused police of providing misleading information to revoke his interim pre-arrest bail.
