Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended hearty congratulations to a distinguished group of personalities from Uttar Pradesh who received the Padma Awards, one of India's highest civilian honors, on Monday.
He praised violinist N Rajam for being awarded the Padma Vibhushan, acknowledging her 75-year dedication to elevating Indian classical music globally. Her 'khyal gayaki ang' innovation brought a unique identity to the tradition, he emphasized.
Adityanath highlighted significant achievements in medicine with Dr. Kevil Krishna Thakral's pioneering 'Karna Vedhan' technique for asthma treatment, Prof. Shyam Sundar's contributions to combating Kala-Azar, and Dr. Rajendra Prasad’s work on TB treatments. He also lauded advancements in agriculture by Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, cultural preservation by Prof. Buddha Rashmi Mani, and applauded sports achievements by Paralympian Praveen Kumar. Celebrating actor Dharmendra’s Padma Vibhushan, Adityanath recognized his impact on Indian cinema.
