Maharashtra’s Heritage Sites Get a Modern Boost: Fadnavis Allocates Rs 993 Crore for Development
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed swift completion of development works at the state’s key pilgrimage and historical sites to enhance facilities for tourists and devotees. A sum of Rs 993.72 crore has been allocated for six major projects, focusing on modern amenities and conservation efforts.

The Maharashtra government, under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, announced a significant push towards the development and preservation of the state's pilgrimage and historical sites. During a meeting, Fadnavis emphasized the importance of completing these projects promptly to improve facilities for tourists and devotees.
The apex committee on pilgrimage development approved funds amounting to Rs 993.72 crore for six major projects. Among the noteworthy developments, a comprehensive plan worth Rs 172.22 crore has been earmarked for Bhimashankar Temple, which includes infrastructure upgrades and environmental measures.
Additionally, several other sites including Sant Tukaram Maharaj's birthplace and the iconic Ajinkyatara Fort will undergo enhancements totaling Rs 301.54 crore, promising a modern yet respectful tribute to Maharashtra's rich heritage.
