Nepal has clarified that no new restrictions have been imposed on Indian tourists following media reports suggesting otherwise. The Nepal Tourism Board has labeled these claims as entirely false and reiterated the continued open-border policy and strong cultural relations with India.
The board emphasized that there have been no changes to the longstanding agreements between the two countries. Reports of supposed visa and stay restrictions were also dismissed. The Nepalese Embassy in New Delhi further confirmed via social media that traveling from India requires no visa and offers a hassle-free experience.
Officials stated that while vehicle entry into Nepal requires registration, personal stays are not time-restricted. A new online facilitation system has been introduced by the Nepal government to ease travel for Indians and international visitors entering via land routes.
