Mystery Surrounds Death of Hindu Caretaker in Bangladesh
Nayan Sadhu, a caretaker of a Hindu temple in Bangladesh, was found dead, hanging from a tree, days after his disappearance. Authorities are uncertain if it was murder or suicide. The Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council demands justice, suspecting foul play against the minority community.
An unsettling incident has taken place in southeastern Bangladesh, where a Hindu temple caretaker, Nayan Sadhu, has been discovered dead, hanging from a tree. This occurred three days after he vanished, sparking calls for justice from minority groups.
Nayan Sadhu, a 40-year-old resident of the Dohazari area in Chhattogram district, served at a temple in the Khurushkul union of Cox's Bazar. Eyewitnesses report two unidentified men last seen accompanying him. His decomposing body was later found in a hilly area outside the village, prompting suspicions of foul play.
The Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council (BHBCUC) has issued a statement demanding severe consequences for those responsible, condemning the incident as a possible hate crime. The police, who have yet to determine the cause of death, are continuing their investigation following a missing person's report filed earlier by Sadhu's wife.
