A group of 18 students from Manipur University's National Security Studies Department recently undertook a six-day educational field trip to Tawang and border areas of Arunachal Pradesh. The excursion offered a thorough insight into the strategic, historical, and cultural significance of the region, according to an official statement released on Friday.
The tour highlighted the harmonious civil-military relations in the area while showcasing the pivotal role of the Indian Army in national security and community development. During their visit, students had an informative interaction with the Tawang station commander, focusing on the region's security dynamics.
Key visits included the Maj Bob Khathing Museum of Valour, Tawang Monastery, and the Giant Buddha, which enriched their understanding of the area's cultural and historical legacy. Their tribute at the Tawang War Memorial and attendance at a moving light and sound show narrating the stories of the 1962 War left a lasting impact.
