The initiative is spearheaded by directors Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti in partnership with singer-composer Ankur Tewari, aiming to feature a diverse range of music styles curated by Tewari. A key component of the label is 'City Sessions', launched in association with Mumbai's Island City Studios, focusing on supporting and refining the skills of upcoming musicians.

The collaboration represents a new era in India's music scene, with aims to bring compelling storytelling and creative partnerships to the forefront. Tiger Baby Records' early projects include the release of a wedding song for Tanishq and a soundtrack for the film 'Superboys of Malegaon'.
