In a tragic incident at the popular Egyptian Red Sea destination of Hurghada, a tourist submarine sank, leaving six dead and nine injured, according to municipal officials on Thursday.
The Red Sea governorate confirmed that emergency teams successfully rescued 29 individuals from the ill-fated vessel. The submarine was on a tour off a beach in the bustling tourist promenade area, carrying 45 passengers of diverse nationalities.
While the cause of the sinking remains undetermined, many tourist operators have been forced to reconsider or halt Red Sea excursions due to the escalating regional dangers stemming from ongoing conflicts.
