The Defence Ministry announced on Wednesday that Minister of State for Defence, Sanjay Seth, inaugurated two significant mountaineering expeditions. The missions, aimed at providing a 'first-hand Everest experience' to mountain instructors, are set to inspire future Indian generations in the field of mountaineering.

Leading the expedition to Mount Everest is Col Anshuman Bhadauria, principal of the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. Comprising seven adept climbers, the team will traverse the traditional South Col Route in Nepal. Meanwhile, an expedition to Mount Kangchenjunga is being spearheaded by Col Ranveer Singh Jamwal from the National Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports.

Seth emphasized the expeditions' dual purpose: to highlight India's prowess in adventure sports and to align with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of fostering resilience among young Indians. Success in these endeavors is expected to set new benchmarks in mountaineering and inspire adventurers across the globe.
