Prince Harry Steps Down: A Charity's Turmoil
Prince Harry resigned as a patron of Sentebale, an African charity he co-founded in memory of Princess Diana, due to a breakdown in relations between the charity's board and chairwoman Sophie Chandauka. The move underscores ongoing governance issues, prompting both princes to engage the UK Charity Commission.

Prince Harry recently stepped down as a patron of Sentebale, an African charity he co-founded nearly 20 years ago in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana. The decision follows a significant breakdown in relations between the charity's board and its chairwoman, Sophie Chandauka.
In a joint statement with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, Harry expressed profound sadness but emphasized the need to support the trustees amid their dispute with Chandauka, who has filed legal action to remain in her voluntary position. Allegations of misconduct and governance issues have arisen, leading to scrutiny from the UK's Charity Commission.
Sentebale, which aids children and young people affected by AIDS in Lesotho, continues to operate despite the current challenges. The charity's founders, Harry and Seeiso, pledge to remain involved and ensure that their concerns are raised with the relevant authorities, highlighting a deep commitment to its mission.
