Set in Jammu, the three-day celebration will begin on March 29 and conclude with a grand event at Abhinav Theatre on April 1. Attendees will pledge to celebrate the next new year in the Kashmir valley, embodying their deep connection to the homeland.
Navreh, celebrated as the New Year by Kashmiri Pandits, will be observed through themes of sacrifice, resolve, and valour. The festival commemorates the community's rich cultural heritage and resilience, marking 36 years since their exodus from Kashmir. The Mahotsav seeks to honor figures like Pandit Shreya Bhat and commemorate achievements of historical figures like Samrat Lalitaditya Muktapida.
Engagement activities such as online essay and video competitions will involve the younger generations, focusing on inspiring contributions of notable personalities. With a keynote address and cultural performances planned, the festival aims to strengthen community solidarity and keep the spirit of Navreh alive.
