In a tragic incident, actor and director Manoj Bharathiraja, son of renowned Tamil director Bharathiraja, has died of a cardiac arrest at the age of 48.
Manoj, who emerged in the Tamil film industry with lead roles in movies such as 'Taj Mahal', had recently taken up supporting roles and debuted as a director in 2023 with 'Margazhi Thingal'.
Prominent figures, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin, music director Ilaiyaraaja, and actor-politician Khushbu Sundar, expressed their condolences over this unexpected loss. Manoj is survived by his wife Nandana and their two daughters, Arshitha and Mathivadhani.
