Two former contestants of the popular reality show Kannada Bigg Boss have found themselves in legal trouble. The police reported on Tuesday that Rajath Kishan and Vinay Gowda have been arrested for allegedly brandishing a weapon in a video clip that was widely circulated on social media.
The video, which is just 18 seconds long, shows the duo holding a machete in a public space. It was uploaded on Instagram by one of the individuals, leading to a swift backlash from the public as the clip went viral. Despite numerous searches, the weapon has yet to be recovered.
Both individuals face charges under Section 270 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for public nuisance, along with other relevant provisions of the Arms Act. Initially, the police served notices to the duo to appear before them, leading to their detention. Arrest procedures are now underway, according to a police officer.
