The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation conducted checks at the Khar studio in Mumbai where comedian Kunal Kamra filmed a show that included controversial remarks about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The checks come in the wake of vandalism by enraged Shiv Sainiks.
The Minskra studio, part of a basement structure at the Unicontinental hotel, has not been demolished as reported earlier. According to officials, measurements were taken, and a temporary structure on hotel grounds was removed.
In response to the vandalism, Habitat Studio announced its temporary closure. They expressed dismay over acts of vandalism and emphasized their distance from the creative content of their guests. They seek dialogue with artists and audiences to ensure respect for creative freedom without endangering their establishment.
