Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut demanded action from Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday, urging him to recover damages from Shiv Sainiks involved in vandalizing a studio where comedian Kunal Kamra's show was shot.
Raut accused Fadnavis of failing to maintain law and order, calling the situation in the state capital an example of "gunda raj" (hooliganism). Meanwhile, Mumbai police have filed FIRs against Kamra for his remarks against Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and against nearly 40 Shiv Sena workers accused of vandalizing the studio at Habitat Studio and the hotel in which it is situated.
Kamra, known for his satirical comedy, drew laughter by altering a song from "Dil To Pagal Hai." Raut defended Kamra, questioning the extreme reactions to the comedian's satire. He highlighted the chief minister's previous pledge to recover damages from rioters in Nagpur and called for consistent action following this incident. Raut also demanded the transfer of the Mumbai police commissioner following the night's events.
