Addressing the Assembly, Vijayan revealed measures to avert disruptions in the festival's annual schedule, involving comprehensive departmental coordination and timely action planning spearheaded by the District Police Chief.

Controversy arose last year when the fireworks display was postponed due to alleged police interference, sparking political reactions. In response, a high-level meeting reviewed festival proposals focusing on security, and a letter was sent to Union Minister Piyush Goyal seeking amendments to the Explosive Act restrictions.
