Dola Purnima swept through Odisha with vibrant festivities on Friday, capturing the essence of tradition and celebration. Recognized as a harbinger of spring, this festival brings villages alive with processions featuring the idols of Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha on swings known as 'dola'.
Devotees partook in playing with colors, embodying the spirit of joy and devotion. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi extended heartwarming greetings, wishing happiness and peace influenced by Dola Govinda's grace.
The celebration continued with the worship of Lord Jagannath as Dola Govinda, with the deities at the Puri temple dressed in 'Suna Besha' or gold attire. Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik also shared his best wishes for this auspicious occasion, looking forward to the continuation of festivities post-Holi.
