In the Bihar capital of Patna, communities from multiple faiths joined together to celebrate Holi and participate in Jumma prayers, with the celebrations proceeding peacefully, as reported by a senior police officer.
The city saw increased police presence in communally sensitive areas, especially around mosques, according to Deputy SP (Law and Order) Krishna Murari Prasad. Prasad assured that efforts were made to ensure that mosque-goers faced no disruptions during their prayers.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conveyed a message of peace, urging the public to embrace Holi as a representation of social harmony. Devotees at Jama Masjid, near Patna Junction, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful proceedings and emphasized the spirit of unity and participation in each other's festivities.
