Vibrant Traditions: Sujanpur Tira's Historic Holi Festival Commences

In a vibrant kick-off to one of the most historic festivals in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the national Holi festival in Sujanpur Tira. Held in the famous Chaugan, a significant cultural venue since the early 19th century, the festival was originally started by Raja Sansar Chand Katoch.
Known for being a patron of art and culture, Raja Katoch established this festival in what was once the capital of the Katoch dynasty. Today, thousands flock to Sujanpur Tira each year to experience a lively blend of tradition and festivities unique to this region.
During the event, Chief Minister Sukhu participated in a ceremonial puja at the Murli Manohar temple, praised local women's self-help groups for their role in promoting local products, and laid the foundation for several development projects worth Rs 43.64 crore in the constituency.
