The Tripura government has initiated efforts to safeguard the Chaturdash Devta Temple from encroachment. Located 7km from Agartala, this site is historically significant, with the worship of 14 deities dating back to the era of the Mahabharata.
A high-level meeting, attended by priests and community leaders, was held at the temple to address these concerns. Tipra Motha Party leader Pradyot Kishore Manikya expressed contentment following discussions with Chief Minister Manik Saha and others.
Attention was given to a public health center being built on temple grounds. Community leaders emphasized the importance of transparency to prevent misunderstandings. Follow-up actions are planned to preserve the temple's cultural and historical significance, especially during the annual Kharchi Puja attended by millions of devotees.
