On Monday, Air India Express marked a significant milestone by inducting its 100th aircraft, a Boeing 737-8, into its fleet. This aircraft features 'Chittara' tail art, a nod to Karnataka's traditional mural style. The event took place at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport, the airline's largest hub with over 445 weekly flights.
The milestone highlights the rapid growth of Air India Express, especially since its privatization just over three years ago. Aloke Singh, Managing Director, shared, "This 100th aircraft is a defining moment in our journey, illustrating our transformation and expansion. We've integrated LCC airlines, expanded our domestic network, and strengthened our routes in the Middle East and Southeast Asia."
Each aircraft in Air India Express's fleet is part of the 'Tales of India' theme, displaying unique tail art representing India's cultural diversity. The 100th aircraft features Chittara art from Karnataka, a folk art of the Deewaru community known for its connections to nature and heritage, symbolizing the airline's commitment to celebrating India's artistic legacy.
