Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced a series of initiatives to commemorate the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, an iconic social reformer. Saini declared that the state will celebrate Phule's birth anniversary annually, recognizing her invaluable contributions as India's first woman teacher and a leader in women's empowerment.
During a program in Bahadurgarh, Saini revealed plans to extend the metro line from Bahadurgarh to Asaudha and pledged the Bahadurgarh Municipal Council's upgrade to a Municipal Corporation. These developments aim to boost infrastructure and reflect Phule's enduring influence on women's educational aspirations.
To further Phule's vision, the Haryana government is renaming the Government Women's College in Loharu, Bhiwani after her, reinforcing its dedication to women's education. Saini highlighted continuous efforts towards empowering women, including the establishment of 79 government colleges in the past decade, with a focus on those for girls, aligning with the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign.
