Honoring Global Excellence: Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awardees Announced

In recognition of exceptional contributions and achievements, President Droupadi Murmu is set to confer the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award during the valedictory session of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) Convention, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday.
The prestigious awards celebrate the excellence achieved by the Indian diaspora across various fields. Among this year's distinguished honorees are Baroness Usha Kumari Prashar from the UK for her political contributions and Dr. Sharmila Ford from the US, recognized for her community service efforts. Notably, institutions like Saraswati Vidya Niketan from Guyana and Hindustani Samaj from Russia will also be honored for their community service initiatives.
The selection of awardees was carried out by a Jury-cum-Awards Committee, presided over by the Vice-President, with the External Affairs Minister serving as Vice-Chair. The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention is scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, from January 8-10, marking its 18th edition.
