Ayodhya witnessed an extraordinary congregation of devotees at the newly constructed Ram Mandir on New Year's Day. As dawn broke, thousands lined up for 'darshan' of the deity Ram Lalla, demonstrating their fervent devotion.
The temple, consecrated last year, became a focal point during the holiday season. Over two lakh devotees had set up camps in Ayodhya by New Year's Eve, with an additional influx escalating the crowd to approximately three lakh by morning. Ayodhya's attraction as a pilgrimage destination has surged, according to the Ram Temple Trust.
Local authorities anticipated the masses by expanding visitor facilities and implementing extensive security measures. The city was segmented into sectors and zones, with senior officers and drone technologies employed to oversee crowded areas. This ensured the safety and smooth flow of the overwhelming number of visitors, as the traditional tourist hotspots took a backseat.
