Bengaluru rang in the New Year with lively celebrations, as crowds gathered for parties and temple visits. The police, led by Commissioner B Dayananda, ensured security with 11,830 personnel stationed across the city for a peaceful night.
Party hotspots like Koramangala buzzed with energy, illuminated to prevent mishaps, as explained by Dayananda while inspecting the area. A crackdown on drunk driving saw 28,127 vehicles checked and 513 violations recorded.
Despite packed streets, traffic remained manageable, aided by metro services that ran more frequently. Social media buzzed with clips of cheerful metro passengers enjoying the celebrations, while warm temperatures added to the festive atmosphere.
