Legendary Director Sai Paranjpye Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award

Renowned filmmaker Sai Paranjpye is set to be honored with the prestigious Padmapani Lifetime Achievement Award at the upcoming Ajanta-Ellora International Film Festival in 2025. Known for iconic films like 'Sparsh' and 'Chashme Buddoor,' Paranjpye's award highlights her significant impact on Indian cinema.
The festival, now in its 10th edition, is scheduled to occur in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from January 15 to January 19. The announcement was made by AIFF figures, including chairman Nandkishor Kagliwal and honorary chairman Ashutosh Gowariker.
Paranjpye, a key figure in the 'parallel cinema' movement, has an esteemed career spanning films, plays, and contributions to Marathi literature. The ceremony at Rukmini Auditorium will honor her achievements with a memento, a letter, and a monetary prize.
