In a tragic incident, eleven Indian nationals lost their lives at Gudauri, a mountain resort in Georgia, due to carbon monoxide poisoning. Many of the deceased, employees at a local Indian restaurant, had migrated from Punjab seeking better opportunities abroad.
The victims had taken loans or debts to fund their move, hoping to improve their families' prospects. Families of the deceased are now in despair, urging the government to expedite the repatriation of their loved ones' remains to India for the final rites.
The Indian mission in Tbilisi has extended condolences to the grieving families. Meanwhile, Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs, which reported no signs of foul play, continues its investigation into the fatal incident.
