In a grand celebration, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Wednesday hosted the Dilli Deepotsav at Vasudev Ghat on the Yamuna's bank, illuminating the area with 3.5 lakh diyas. This landmark event commemorates the upcoming Dev Deepawali, Guru Purab, and the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader Birsa Munda.

The event, the first of its kind, saw the presence of numerous dignitaries, with Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena attending as the chief guest. Saxena expressed the symbolic importance of the Yamuna to Delhi's identity, performing the Yamuna Aarti to highlight the collective responsibility to maintain the river's cleanliness.

Organized efforts by the DDA have transformed the once garbage-strewn Vasudev Ghat into a beautiful site for the festival. The celebration included a spectacular drone and laser show, along with the lighting of diyas by diverse community members. Saxena hopes to see the festival grow akin to Ayodhya's famed celebrations.
