The ninth edition of the Himalayan Echoes Literature Festival is set to return to Nainital this Saturday, marking its comeback after a three-year hiatus. Held at the historic Abbotsford House, this two-day event promises a rich blend of literature and cultural exploration focused on the Himalayas.

Under the mentorship of Namita Gokhale, the festival will open with mountain melodies performed by Bhutanese singing duo, Pema Samdrup and Karma Demath. Alongside engaging literary discussions, the festival celebrates arts, crafts, and local cuisine from the northern Indian belt, making it India's unique 'environment festival.'

This year, the theme is C.A.L.M (Creativity. Art. Literature. Mountains), embracing post-pandemic reflections. Esteemed authors like Vikas Swarup and cultural figures will lead various workshops, while visitors can enjoy a culinary and cultural feast at the Kumaon Bazaar. The festival will culminate with a traditional Choliya dance performance.
