Thousands of devotees flocked to the Shree Jagannath Temple on Tuesday to celebrate Panchuka, marking the last days of the holy Kartik month. Amid tight security measures, devotees entered through the Singhadwar Gate, as authorities managed the large crowds.
Puri Collector Sidharth Shankar Swain emphasized the administration's increased security, including a no-vehicle zone on Bada Danda and lifeguards across the five-kilometer coastline, ensuring safety for worshippers participating in holy sea dips.
The devotees honored Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Narayan, as Lord Jagannath was adorned in diverse attires. The Panchuka, usually a five-day celebration, saw this year's festivities shortened to four days as per the almanac, with fervent participation from all.
